Last night, Pane in the Sash presented 10-year-old Eva Cook from Congleton with the ‘Champion Child’ accolade at Cheshire’s annual Local Hero Awards.
Unsung Cheshire heroes and their outstanding achievements were celebrated at the annual event, held at Crew Hall, in Cheshire last night. The event that was hosted by breakfast presenter Susan Hanks from Cheshire radio station Silk 106.9 and was sponsored by Cheshire East Council among other Cheshire businesses.
Genna Lenden, Marketing Manager from Pane in the Sash who presented the award said, ‘We are so proud to be part of this year’s event and privileged to be sponsoring Champion Child’.
Eleven awards were handed out to some of the county’s most deserving people, Eva Cook being one of them for her care, compassion and bravery through her mother’s illness. Upon receiving the award, a little overwhelmed Eva commented ‘I am just so happy’.
Louis Jones, Managing Director of Pane in the Sash said, ‘Eva is a true inspiration to us all and thoroughly deserves the credit of this award. Some children are so strong and somehow find the adult skills needed to tackle life’s toughest challenges. We are so proud to present this award to Eva’.

Pane in the Sash this year will be supporting Silk FM’s, Local Hero Awards, with the honour of sponsoring, ‘Champion Child’.
The glittering ceremony will take place in Crewe on Thursday 1st November at the Prestigious Crewe Hall.
Managing Director of Pane in the Sash, Louis Jones said: ‘We are so proud to be part of Silk 106.9, Local Hero Awards. Pane in the Sash are sponsoring the ‘Champion Child’ category and we couldn't be more honoured’.
The event is being run in partnership with Silk 106.9 and Cheshire East Council and will recognise the achievements of Cheshire East residents in a prestigious 12 award ceremony, with categories including, Champion Child, Act of Courage and Neighbour of the Year.
Louis continued, ‘We know there are so many great young people who benefit our community and provide inspiration to all ages. As a father myself, I know that it is so important to encourage the younger generation, it will be great to see some of the local, young people get some deserved recognition’.
